Our Story

Hello, I am Carl Lawson, my wife is Kati Wittner and we are the founders of Curious Compass Wines. Kati is Hungarian and I met her when she was working at James River Cellars Winery in Virginia for the Summer. We fell in love over a glass of wine, traveled the world tasting wine, and today we import wine from Hungary. Kati speaks and writes Hungarian, English, and Portuguese fluently and has spent years in Portugal working and as a student. We use her family connections, language skills, and both our good taste in wine to find the best "for the pallet and wallet" wines to import to the US.
